Future brightens for hydrogen

This article talks about new research in hydrogen fuel cell vehicle technology. It paves the way for the much coveted 300 mile range per fill-up.
The discovery is the result of a UK group called SUPERGEN.
I wonder if there is a comparable, coordinated US group? If there is I haven't heard about it.

Over here in the states, the best our Congress can come up with is to posture about gas gouging... by oil companies...during an presidentially declared "energy emergency"
What won't change? It will still cost $40 if I return a compact rental car with the tank half full.
