The Obama DOJ thinks that statements made by very important people in criminal investigations should be kept secret because: if made public people might use it to make fun of them. Heaven forbid that (hopefully) candid statements from politicians might be made public. We must protect our leaders by making (again hopefully) truthful statements secret otherwise people might criticize them and hurt their feelings.

Obama goes to Washington

Lets spend 8 hours covering the train ride live and call it 'The Obama Express'. I think a name change is in order from CNN to CON (Cable Obama Network). To give it some credit though, it is better than The Cheney Express from 8 years ago:




An Update: Now that the train ride is over, The Obama Inauguration special has begun, dubbed Obama-Stock. My DVR won't let me only record the part with Beyonce.

Another Update: I checked CNN a minute ago (around 4) and if it wasn't for the CNN logo and absence of Carson Daily I would have thought it was TRL.

Not likely to change much

The recent NIE that says Iran has stopped its newkyuler weapons program in 2003 probably won't change much. Bush has usually said, and is doing so almost exclusively after the report, that it is the newkyuler knowldge to make a bomb not the bombs themselves that Iran must be prevented from getting, with force if necessary according to Cheney and Lieberman, if we want to avoid WWIII. And not everbody believes the report.
