In the name of the children, some Republicans have introduced a bill that would require every operator of an internet access point to keep activity logs for 2 years. This would include home wireless routers. How many people would even know how to do this? For more info, see this comments thread. Closer to home, Chicago is mulling going the London route and installing cameras at every street corner.
